ZAK SALLY PEEL SESSION UNWOUND DRAWING OUTTAKES/ CHEAP and half to the ACLU
dear unwound fans: this is zak sally. i was in bands, i make comics, etc etc etc. i did the drawings for the Peel Session included in Numero’s final box set, EMPIRE. when Justin (or Sara, i can’t remember) emailed and said “you wanna do the art?!?!” i thought not only HELL YES (because i love those guys, and that band) but also: "THIS IS GOING TO BE A CAKE WALK, i could draw Unwound in my sleep!!”
boy was i wrong. i did, like, SEVENTY drawings of those 3, trying to get it right. it drove me fucking nuts and i cursed their names. yes, it’s embarrassing. but let my embarrassment be your ARTISTIC WINDFALL.
a lot of these drawings are kind of great, and i’d rather people HAVE them than they sit in my flat file gathering dust. so what i did is made sets of 4 drawings each (one each of Sara and Vern, and 2 of Justin. not because i love him more, but because i could NOT get his damn face right, so i’ve got twice as many of him...). some of them are real loose and gestural, some are detailed illustrations, some are ink, some are pencil, some are white on black paper, it’s all over the map. i tried to give a nice mix in each set. but they are mostly pretty big and there is some damn nice stuff in there if i do say so myself. there’s at least one in each set that’d be a $100 drawing if i was asking freelance prices. so here’s what we’re doing (with Unwound’s blessing, naturally):

I’m asking $45 for each set (of 4 drawings), + $7 postage, shipped to you in a tube (if you're overseas, let me know, might be a bit more), so
$52 in all
HALF OF THE PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE ACLU
because we are staring at a daily nightmare that smells a hell of a lot like fascism, and it is far, far beyond fucked.
